  1. ‘Spot the difference’ S&D video

The video of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament features one of the group’s priorities, ie equal pay and pension gap. It has been featured as their cover video on their Facebook and is available on S&D website.

What I really like about it is the simple yet engaging way of explaining the issue to citizens. I wish we could see more videos like this presenting complex issues in such an easy-going way.

  1. World Down Syndrome Day

21st March marked the World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.

Social media exploded with the campaign hashtags: #WDSD19 #LeaveNoOneBehind #WorldDownSyndromeDay

#WSDW19 was mentioned 17,4k times only on Instagram (!). Politicians also actively participated in the campaign, mainly on their Twitter accounts and Instagram stories.

Seen as superficial by many people, such campaign DOES raise awareness and debunks stereotypes that affect daily live of millions of people around the world.

  1. Families Europe checklist for the European elections

Families Europe, a network of civil society associations representing the interests of all families, released a great visual checklist for citizens to help them make a decision in the upcoming European elections. The visual presents 10 principles that safeguard a social, inclusive and democratic Europe.
